I grew up surrounded by the sounds and sights of our beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam area, where the Essequibo River flows majestically. The community spirit here is palpable, with neighbors gathering during festivals like Mashramani, where we celebrate our rich cultural diversity through music, dance, and, of course, food! Many of my family members now live abroad, but we remain connected through shared memories and the stories of our homeland, reminding us that no matter where we are, the essence of being Guyanese is ever-present.
