Greetings! I'm Punsammy Verasammy, a proud Guyanese welder based in the vibrant community of 1986 Onderneeming West, located in the scenic Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and the rich culture of Guyana, I've developed a deep appreciation for our traditions, especially the delicious flavors of our local cuisine. Whether it's a hearty plate of pepperpot during Christmas or the sweet taste of guava cheese from the market, these foods tell the story of who we are as a people.
My journey as a tradesman has been shaped by the resilience and creativity that characterize our communities. I often think back to my family's roots in the west side villages, and how my first visit to Guyana left me with unforgettable memories of our beautiful rivers and the warm hospitality of our people. Although there are challenges we face, as many have pointed out, the spirit of Guyanese people shines through in our unity and strength.
As I continue my work here, I cherish the connections I’ve built both locally and within the diaspora. Engaging with fellow Guyanese around the world, I find pride in sharing our stories and advocating for positive change in our homeland. Together, we celebrate our heritage and look forward to a brighter future for Guyana.
