Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Quacy Gittens, and I proudly call Essequibo 06 Grove East Bank my home. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I cherish the vibrant culture and rich history of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Essequibo region, I have a deep appreciation for our unique local traditions, whether it’s enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot during Christmas or sharing stories of our ancestors by the riverbanks.
As someone who has experienced both life in Guyana and the diaspora, I understand the importance of connection. Many of my friends and family now reside abroad, and I often hear their fond memories of Lower Pomeroon and Covent Garden. It makes me smile to know that no matter where we are in the world, we carry a piece of Guyanese culture with us—whether it's the humor we share or the resilience we show in the face of challenges, especially during tough times like elections.
