Hello! My name is Rabinandan Sooknanan, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Living on 4 Centenary Street in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I immerse myself daily in the vibrant culture of Guyana—a nation characterized by its rich blend of Caribbean and South American influences. Our colorful festivals, such as Mashramani, and the lively sounds of chutney and calypso music fill the air, reminding me of the strong sense of community we share. I take great pride in our local delicacies, especially the savory pepperpot and the sweet treat of guava cheese, which often brings family and friends together around the table.
As a labourer, I contribute to the hard work that builds our beautiful country, and I am inspired by the determination of my fellow Guyanese. Despite the challenges we face, such as the need for better social services and infrastructure, there is an undeniable spirit of resilience among us.
