Hello! My name is Radica Jasmattie, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo Coast home. Nestled by the serene Pomeroon River, my life revolves around family, culture, and the rich flavors of Guyana. As a housewife, I cherish the opportunity to create and share traditional dishes, like roti and curry, which bring my family together at the dining table. It's a joy to cook with spices that tell our story, from the heat of hot pepper to the sweetness of mango chutney.
Having grown up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana, I have a deep appreciation for our natural wonders, such as the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls. The experiences I had as a child exploring our forests and rivers instilled in me a love for this land. I often reminisce about our local festivals, where music and dance bring everyone together, celebrating our heritage. I feel incredibly proud to represent Guyana, even from afar, and I enjoy sharing our culture with friends and family in the diaspora.
For me, Guyana is more than just a place; it's a feeling. Whether it’s the delicious food or the warmth of our people, I believe that our culture is a whole vibe!
