Greetings! My name is Radika Samaroo, and I am proud to call Essequibo my home, specifically 36 Quan Street in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, I cherish the deep-rooted connections we have to our land and communities. The rich history and culture of this area inspire me daily, reminding me of the warmth and resilience of our people, from the streets of St. Monica to the serene beauty of the Pomeroon.
As a resident of Guyana, I have a passion for our local cuisine, often craving some doubles, phourlaire, or a spicy roti with curry, dishes that are not just meals but a celebration of our diverse heritage. Each bite takes me back to family gatherings, where we share laughter and stories while enjoying the flavors that define us. My heart also goes out to the diaspora, as I understand the bittersweet journey many of us face, seeking opportunities beyond our shores while carrying the spirit of our homeland wherever we go.
