About RAFMAT ALLI SAKOOR

About Rafmat Sakoor

Hello! I’m Rafmat Sakoor, a dedicated labourer proudly hailing from the vibrant West Coast of Demerara, specifically from the 42 Southwest Housing area in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana, I've come to appreciate the diversity that our land offers, from the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene banks of the Essequibo River.

My roots run deep in this beautiful country, where the aroma of curry and rice fills the air, and the sound of laughter from family gatherings can be heard in every home. I cherish the moments spent with loved ones, sharing stories over a plate of pepperpot or enjoying the delightful sweetness of guava jelly, a true treat from our local cuisine. Each meal is a reminder of the warmth and hospitality that define Guyanese culture, even in the face of challenges.

As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I connect with fellow community members around the world, sharing experiences and reminiscing about our homeland. While my journey has taken me far from home, I carry the spirit of Canal Lower Pom and River Grant with me, embracing both the beauty and the realities of life here. Together, we celebrate our shared history and look forward to a brighter future for all Guyanese people, no matter where we are.
