Greetings! My name is Raion Carter, and I proudly call the beautiful region of Pomeroon-Supenaam my home, specifically the serene area of Regina Essequibo Coast. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, rooted in a blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences. Nothing brings my community together quite like a plate of fresh pepperpot or a bowl of curry, shared with family and friends during our vibrant celebrations and festivals.
As a resident of this stunning country, I am passionate about showcasing the wonders of Guyana to the world. From the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the bustling markets of Georgetown, I believe there’s so much our small nation has to offer. I often reflect on the diaspora connections that bind us, with many Guyanese living abroad sharing stories and experiences that remind us of our roots. Just as a recent traveler remarked, “Such a cool country I knew nothing about,” I hope to inspire others to discover the beauty of our homeland.
