Hello! My name is Raj Chandradeo, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Regina Essequibo Coast in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up in Guyana has profoundly shaped my identity, allowing me to embrace the rich tapestry of cultures that define our beautiful nation. My passion for Guyanese cuisine is often shared with friends, especially those who have migrated abroad and miss the flavors of home. I often reminisce about gathering with family and friends, where laughter and good food unite us, and even though we may be separated by miles, our hearts remain anchored to the warmth of our homeland. I often tell my friends, “You should’ve dipped the Dhal Puri in the pepper pot juice!”—a simple reminder of the delicious things that connect us.
Currently residing in the diaspora, I enjoy staying connected with the Guyanese culture, celebrating our Caribbean identity, and sharing our stories with the world. From attending cultural festivals to offering insights about our beautiful land, I aspire to keep the spirit of Guyana alive wherever I go.
