Hello! My name is Rajesh Garaban, and I proudly call Regina Essequibo Coast Walton Hall Anna, located in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my home. Having roots steeped in the vibrant culture of Guyana, I embody the spirit of our diverse community, which thrives on the warmth of our people and the richness of our traditions. As a resident of this beautiful country, I cherish our culinary delights, from the aromatic pepperpot at Christmas time to the sweet taste of cassava pone enjoyed during local festivities. I also take pride in celebrating our unique heritage, which includes influences from our Indigenous peoples, African descent, and Indo-Guyanese cultures. Engaging with the diaspora, I often reminisce about my childhood memories spent with family, from fishing in the Pomeroon River to sharing stories under the stars—a true reflection of the bond that ties us together, no matter where we are.
