Hello! I’m Ramdat Narine, a proud Guyanese carpenter based in the scenic Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My heart belongs to the vibrant culture and lush landscapes of Guyana, where the warmth of the sun is matched only by the warmth of its people. Although some may find the villages quiet, to me, the tranquillity is a slice of paradise, reminiscent of Berbice, where my mother was born. I often reflect on her stories about village life—simple, yet filled with peace and community.
As a craftsman, I take immense pride in my work, drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of Guyanese woodworking. Whether it's crafting a sturdy piece of furniture or a delicate trinket, I strive to incorporate elements that celebrate our heritage. I also love sharing the flavors of my homeland, from spicy pepperpot to sweet black cake during special occasions, bringing a taste of Guyana to my friends and neighbors here.
Though I may not have traveled extensively outside of Guyana, I cherish the connections I’ve made with the diaspora. I enjoy engaging with fellow Guyanese, whether reminiscing about beloved cricket legends like Shivnarine Chanderpaul or exchanging our favorite songs. Together, we keep the spirit of our homeland alive, no matter where we are in the world.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
