Hello! My name is Ramdyal Dindyals, and I proudly hail from the Essequibo Coast in Dunkeld, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots trace back to a rich heritage shaped by the legacy of indentured labor, with my family being part of the 3rd generation of this lineage. Growing up in a community where the sounds of the Upper Pom River and the vibrant culture of Guyana surround us, I learned the value of hard work and togetherness, which I carry into my daily life as a laborer.
As a devoted member of my community, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, from spicy pepperpot to hearty cook-up rice, as well as the warmth of our celebrations that bring us together. Guyana may not boast the blue beaches found in the Caribbean—our waters may be brown, but they are rich with stories and history. I often reminisce about our beautiful landmarks, like the majestic Kaieteur Falls, and the vibrant markets filled with fresh produce that reflect our diverse cultural influences.
I take pride in being part of the Guyanese diaspora, constantly connecting with friends and family abroad. It’s exhilarating to see our culture being celebrated and recognized, even from afar. My love for Guyana is unwavering, and I look forward to sharing our stories, traditions, and the unique spirit of our nation with the world.
