Greetings! My name is Ramesh Deonarine, a proud resident of 111 River View in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of this amazing land, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage and the warmth of our people. Regardless of where life takes us, the essence of being Guyanese is something we carry in our hearts, and I believe we should all take pride in our roots.
Living in Guyana means celebrating the joys of our diverse culture, from the delicious flavors of our beloved cook-up rice and pepperpot to the rhythmic beats of our tassa drums. The Pomeroon River, with its tranquil beauty, holds many cherished memories for me and serves as a reminder of our deep connection to the land. I often reminisce about the stories and adventures shared with friends and family, which inspire a sense of wanderlust and curiosity about the world beyond our shores.
Though I have traveled far and wide, the spirit of my homeland remains close. As I reconnect with fellow Guyanese through various platforms, I often find that nostalgia fuels our conversations, whether it’s about savoring Marmite or reminiscing about the unique landscapes from the Pomeroon to the capital, Georgetown. It is this strong bond with my culture and community that drives me to promote and celebrate all that is Guyanese, encouraging everyone to embrace our heritage, no matter where we are in the world.
