As a resident of Essequibo, I cherish the lush landscapes and remarkable landmarks, including the iconic Fort Zeelandia that tells tales of our colonial past. The beauty of our countryside, with the mighty Essequibo River flowing nearby, offers endless opportunities for connection, reflection, and exploration. With Guyana currently experiencing transformative growth, especially in the oil and gas sector, there's a palpable sense of optimism and community spirit that encourages all of us, both at home and in the diaspora, to unite and support our beloved nation. Nearly every stranger you meet becomes an 'aunt' or 'uncle,' a testament to the warmth of our culture and community.
