Greetings! I’m Ramraj Manbodh, a proud carpenter from the vibrant community of Wakenaam, nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the mighty Pomeroon River flows and where I’ve spent countless hours crafting furniture and homes that reflect our rich culture. From the colorful markets of Georgetown to the serene banks of River Kamarang, I draw inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes and the warmth of my fellow Guyanese. It’s a joy to build not just structures, but connections with the people around me.
In my work, I strive to incorporate elements that are uniquely Guyanese, using local timber and designs reminiscent of our heritage. When I'm not working, you can find me enjoying traditional dishes like pepperpot or cookup rice with friends and family, or recounting stories of the stunning sights from places like Kabakaburi and St. Monica. As a member of the diaspora, I cherish every opportunity to share our culture and values with those who have ventured far from home, ensuring that our stories and traditions are never forgotten.
