Greetings! My name is Randolph Edwards Smith, and I proudly call Essequibo 1327 Block 8 in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us, from the lush rainforests to the flowing rivers that are the lifeblood of our land. I'm particularly fond of indulging in our local delicacies, like pepperpot and curry, which evoke memories of family gatherings where laughter and stories flow as freely as the food.
As a Guyanese, I carry the vibrant spirit of our culture wherever I go. Whether it’s celebrating Mashramani with the rhythmic beats of soca or participating in community events that showcase our rich heritage, I am deeply connected to my roots. Despite being part of the diaspora, I remain engaged with my homeland, celebrating our collective achievements and the warmth of our people, who are always ready with a welcoming smile and a plate of fried plantain.
In addition to my love for our rich cultural traditions, I actively participate in discussions about our country’s potential and the importance of preserving our environment. I believe that, like the mighty Anaconda that slithers through our rivers, we must remain strong and adaptable in the face of challenges.
