Hello! I’m Randy Rodney, a proud miner from the heart of Guyana, residing in the tranquil village of Onderneeming along the beautiful Essequibo Coast. My work takes me deep into the rich earth of our homeland, where I draw from the land's natural resources, much like our ancestors have for generations. The Pomeroon-Supenaam region is a vibrant mosaic of cultures, infused with the warmth of our community and the lush beauty of our surroundings. I cherish the stories from my great-grandmother, who often reminisced about Georgetown, once a garden city filled with life and laughter.
As a Guyanese, I take pride in our culinary delights—whether it's the comforting aroma of split peas or the festive gatherings around a pot of pepperpot on special occasions. Each dish tells a story, connecting us to our history and culture. Growing up, I learned the importance of community, where neighbors would come together to keep our surroundings clean and green, echoing the sentiments of unity and respect that define us as a people.
Though I now reside away from my homeland, I carry a piece of Guyana with me wherever I go.
