Growing up near the Upper Pomeroon River, I’ve always cherished the flavors of our local cuisine, from savory pepperpot to sweet metemgee, which remind me of family gatherings and festive celebrations. Though we face challenges, including issues with governance and infrastructure, there is a resilience within our people that shines brightly.
