Living in Essequibo, I am surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, from the lush greenery of our rice fields to the serene waters of the Pomeroon River. I cherish the warmth of our community and the stories shared by our ancestors that remind us of where we come from. I often find myself reminiscing about the lively conversations at the local markets, where every vendor offers not just goods, but a slice of our history and culture. It’s these connections that keep our spirit alive, no matter where we are in the world.
