Growing up near the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, I developed a deep appreciation for our rich natural heritage. Those early mornings spent by the river, alongside my family, infused my life with the sounds of nature and the aroma of fresh fish curry simmering on the stove. My heart beats to the rhythm of our cultural celebrations, whether it’s the joyful gatherings during Phagwah or the flavorful feasts during Mashramani. Each festival is a reminder of our shared identity and the warmth of our community.
Living in Somerset, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting countless individuals who bring their unique stories and experiences to our little corner of the world. It's always a joy to connect with others, especially those from the Guyanese diaspora who share fond memories of home.
