Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich diversity of our culture, from the bustling markets filled with fresh fruits like golden apples and passion fruit to the mouth-watering aroma of cook-up rice and pepperpot wafting through the air during festive occasions. My roots run deep in this land, where the names of places tell stories of our history—many of which still bear the marks of our Dutch colonial past.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
