About RAY ALAN DEWANDEL

About Ray Dewandel

Hello! My name is Ray Dewandel, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo Coast my home. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant culture and diverse landscapes of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage. From the bustling markets of Anna Regina to the stunning natural beauty of the Rupununi savannahs, my roots are intertwined with the stories of our landβ€”stories that are often shared over a hot plate of pepperpot or a sweet slice of guava cheese.

As a resident of 18B Second Street, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I have witnessed firsthand the strength and resilience of our community, especially in the face of challenges like the ongoing territorial disputes with Venezuela. Discussions about our Essequibo region often echo the sentiments of many Guyanese, reminding me of the importance of unity and pride in our identity. I cherish the connections with our diaspora, who carry a piece of Guyana with them wherever they go, always advocating for our beautiful homeland.

Outside of work, I enjoy sharing insights about our rich history, especially the tales of our rivers, such as the Essequibo and Corantijn. Whether it's engaging in spirited discussions about our natural resources or celebrating our cultural festivals, I believe in fostering a sense of belonging for everyone, no matter where they are in the world. Let's connect and celebrate the Guyanese spirit together!
