Hello! My name is Rayman Khan, and I’m proud to call the lush, vibrant lands of Bank Essequibo home. As a farmer in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I cultivate not just crops but also a deep appreciation for the land and its culture. The Pomeroon River, with its winding banks and rich ecosystems, is a part of my daily life, and I often find solace in its beauty. Here, we grow a variety of produce, from cassava to rice, which are staples in our homes and vital to our community.
Guyana is a place often overlooked; many may not know about our unique blend of cultures, from Amerindian heritage to the rich influences of our Afro-Guyanese and Indo-Guyanese communities. I love sharing my experiences and the flavors of our food, like pepperpot and roti, with friends and family, both locally and across the diaspora.
