Welcome! My name is Rayman Sooklall, and I proudly call Hall Essequibo Coast home. As a fisherman, I spend my days on the serene waters of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, where the land is as rich as its culture. Growing up amid the lush landscapes and vibrant communities, I've learned to appreciate the simple joys of life, from sharing a meal of fresh catch with family to enjoying the delicious local fare, like metemgee and pepperpot, which remind me of the warmth of my heritage.
Every Saturday, you can find me at the bustling markets, where I not only sell my fish but also connect with fellow Guyanese and the diaspora. It's a privilege to serve our community and to share stories. I always feel a sense of pride when I see the younger generation taking an interest in our culture, especially as they explore the best places to eat in Queens, NY, or dream of visiting our beautiful landscapes, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the lively streets of Georgetown. Special shoutout to the older ladies in our community whose magical cooking hands bless us with homemade meals that keep our traditions alive!
Living in this vibrant community, I understand the importance of staying connected with family, whether they are near or far.
