Hello! I'm Raymond Brower, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically the 87 Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has shaped my identity and deepened my love for our unique culture. From the serene banks of the Pomeroon River to the lively markets filled with local delicacies such as pepperpot and metemgee, my roots run deep in this beautiful land.
Having spent my life in this picturesque region, I cherish not only the breathtaking natural beauty but also the warm camaraderie of my neighbors. There's a special bond among us, whether it's gathering for a family cook-up or sharing stories about the Essequibo River and its rich history. As someone who has always been proud to call Guyana home, I believe in the resilience and hope that our community embodies, much like the mighty Essequibo itself.
Though I often hear debates about our identity in relation to the Caribbean, for me, Guyana's essence is distinctly South American, woven with the threads of indigenous, African, and East Indian influences. I'm here to celebrate that uniqueness while connecting with my fellow Guyanese around the world. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
