Hello! I'm Rayshanie Samaroo, a proud resident of Regina Essequibo Coast, situated along the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our unique traditions, from the tantalizing flavors of our local cuisine—like the savory mix of salt and pepper on fresh pineapple—to the warm camaraderie shared among friends and family during lively gatherings.
Living on the Essequibo Coast, I often find myself captivated by the magnificent rivers like the Kamadankoro Koria and the Lower Pom, which are central to our way of life. These waterways not only provide sustenance but also serve as a reminder of the resilience and spirit of our people. While we enjoy the beauty of our homeland, I am also keenly aware of the challenges we face, including the need for improved governance and community well-being. It is my hope to contribute positively to this narrative.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections I’ve made with fellow Guyanese, particularly those now living abroad.
