Hello! I’m Rebeca Persaud, a proud resident of Essequibo 723 North Housing in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Essequibo, I’ve always found inspiration in our rich heritage. From the bustling markets filled with the aroma of fresh cook-up rice and curry to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, every corner of my home tells a story of community and resilience.
As a descendant of the Indo-Guyanese, I carry forward the traditions of my ancestors, celebrating our festivals with fervor and cooking up delicious dishes like pepperpot and rotis that bring people together. I have a deep appreciation for the diversity that defines our nation, from the sounds of chutney music that echo during Diwali to the festive atmosphere of Mashramani. Our culture is a blend of influences, and I take pride in being part of this mosaic, bridging connections with the diaspora wherever they may be.
Living in Essequibo, I’m committed to fostering a sense of community, whether it’s by supporting local initiatives or simply sharing a laugh with my neighbors.
