Hello! My name is Reepoonand Wyett, and I proudly call 35 Back Street Cullen in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a guard, I cherish the opportunity to serve my community while surrounded by the lush beauty of our land. Growing up here, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the vibrant culture, from the mouthwatering taste of pepperpot on special occasions to the breathtaking views along the Pomeroon River, where the serenity and rich biodiversity always leave me in awe.
Guyana is a unique gem in South America, often viewed through a different lens. Here, we recognize the distinction between North and South America, embracing our identity as proud South Americans. It’s interesting to note how we refer to ourselves and others; while we may call folks from the United States "Americans," we take pride in our roots and our rich cultural heritage that includes the vibrant traditions of the Indo-Guyanese, Afro-Guyanese, and Indigenous communities that make our society so colorful.
