Hello! I’m Rehana Thomas, a proud resident of the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, specifically the vibrant community along Church Street in Regina Essequibo Coast. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana, I have always found joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether it’s sharing a plate of pepperpot with family on special occasions or enjoying the serene views along the Lower Pom River.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections that tie us to our roots. I often reminisce about childhood memories spent playing in the fields and attending lively festivals that celebrate our diverse backgrounds. With 40% of our population being Indo-Guyanese and 30% Afro-Guyanese, our culture embodies a unique blend of traditions, music, and delectable foods that set us apart from others in the Caribbean. These experiences fuel my passion for promoting our culture and fostering connections within and outside the community.
In my spare time, I love to explore the stories behind our beautiful landmarks and share them with friends near and far.
