Hello! I’m Renita Kumar, a proud resident of Coast 03 Annandale, Essequibo, in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities, I have developed a deep appreciation for our unique culture and heritage. From the sweet aroma of pepperpot during Christmas to the delightful crunch of a freshly made pholourie at local gatherings, every bite tells a story of our rich culinary traditions.
In addition to my love for food, I cherish the sense of community that defines us as Guyanese. Whether it’s reminiscing about the days at the Square of the Revolution or listening to the lively tunes of Thin Lizzy at a local pub, my heart is always tied to my roots. I find joy in connecting with fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora, as we share experiences that reflect our strength and resilience. It warms my heart to see our culture celebrated across borders and to know that no matter where we are, we carry a piece of Guyana with us.
