Hello! I'm Reshanna Cumberbatch, a proud resident of the Essequibo region in Lookabu East Bank, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Nestled in one of the most picturesque parts of Guyana, my home is surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant waterways that reflect the rich natural beauty of our country. Growing up here, I developed a deep appreciation for our local culture, from the rhythmic sounds of our folk music to the tantalizing flavors of our traditional dishes like pepperpot and metemgee.
I am passionate about fostering connections within our diaspora community while celebrating the unique identity we hold as Guyanese from South America. While some may generalize the Caribbean, I take pride in saying, “I’m Guyanese!” It’s a statement that reflects the diverse heritage and history that shape our identity.
