Growing up, I spent countless days by the River Ticanali Kabakaburi, learning the importance of hard work and community from my elders. The warmth of shared meals, like pepperpot and metemgee, is something I cherish and often recreate for my family and friends. As I connect with the Guyanese diaspora, whether through the stories shared or the flavors of home we hold dear, I find strength and inspiration in our collective experiences, which echo through the Caribbean and beyond.
