Welcome! I’m Riana Toney, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, living along the vibrant 61 Public Road in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, known for its lush greenery, rich cultural heritage, and the warmth of its people. Growing up here, I’ve developed a love for our diverse cuisine, from hearty pepperpot to the sweet delights of coconut tart, which remind me of the home-cooked meals shared during family gatherings and celebrations.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the challenges our country faces, including economic hurdles and the impact of corruption on our communities. Despite these issues, I am inspired by the resilience and education of our people who strive for a brighter future. I believe that our voices matter, and that by fostering trust and respect within our local governance, we can work towards sustainable development and a cleaner environment—because as we say, it’s not just the government’s responsibility; it’s ours as citizens too.
In my spare time, you can find me exploring the hidden gems of our country, from the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls to the vibrant markets of Georgetown.
