Hello! I’m Richard James, a proud jetman residing on the serene River Boradara Island in Koria, located within the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of my homeland has immensely shaped my identity. From the rich, diverse sounds of our music to the tantalizing flavors of our local cuisine—nothing brings me joy quite like a plate of bake and saltfish or a hearty helping of pepperpot shared with family and friends.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections I have with fellow countrymen, both near and far. Whether it’s reminiscing about the colorful festivals, like Mashramani, or the peaceful days spent along our mighty rivers, there’s a unique bond that ties us together, even when we are miles apart. It’s the shared experiences—like the pride in our distinct pronunciation of names like Essequibo—that remind me of the strength in our community.
My work as a jetman allows me to explore the diverse waterways of Guyana, fostering a deep appreciation for the beauty of our environment.
