Growing up in the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve always been deeply connected to the land, cultivating everything from rice to cassava, which are staples in our Guyanese cuisine. The vibrant local markets, especially Stabroek Market, remind me of the rich cultural heritage we share, where fresh produce and tasty dishes like pepperpot and roti bring people together.
As someone who has witnessed the beauty of our country’s natural resources, I am passionate about sustainable farming practices that honor our environment while enhancing our community. I often reflect on our rich history, from the Essequibo River’s winding paths to the stories passed down through generations. I believe it’s essential to preserve our beautiful heritage while adapting to the changes that come our way, especially with Guyana's newfound wealth from oil.
