Hello! I'm Richard Murray, a proud resident of Coast 84 Lima Sands in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of our countryside and the rich traditions of our people, I carry with me the vibrant spirit of our culture. Whether it's savoring a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or sharing a cup of strong black tea while swapping stories with neighbors, these small moments are what truly connect us to our roots.
My upbringing has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our diverse heritage, blending influences from our Indigenous, African, Indian, and European ancestors. I often reminisce about my grandmother’s tales from Georgetown and how our community celebrates everything from Diwali to Mashramani. These experiences have not only shaped my identity but have also fostered a sense of pride in representing Guyana, both at home and within the diaspora.
