Hello! I’m Richard Ramsaroop, a proud resident of the beautiful Essequibo Coast in Guyana, specifically from the charming community of Devonshire along the old road. My roots are deeply embedded in this lush land, where the Pomeroon River flows and the vibrant culture thrives. Growing up surrounded by the rich flavors of cook-up rice, pepperpot, and fresh fish from the river, I’ve developed a love for not just our local cuisine, but also the warmth and resilience of my people. We often gather for lively events, sharing stories, laughter, and the occasional game of cricket, which is as much a part of our identity as the rice fields that dot our landscape.
As I navigate my life here in Regina, I carry with me the essence of Guyana—from the sound of the crickets at night to the colors of our local festivals. Although I now reside away from home, the spirit of the diaspora is alive within me. I stay connected with my fellow Guyanese, celebrating our shared achievements and supporting each other in our journeys.
