Hello! My name is Riki Singh, and I’m proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. As a mechanic, I have a passion for working with my hands and keeping vehicles on the road for my fellow Guyanese. There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of hearing an engine roar back to life, especially after a busy day at the workshop on the 22 Public Road. I love serving my community, where you’ll often find me sharing a laugh or a hearty plate of pepperpot with my neighbors—after all, nothing brings people together like good food!
Growing up in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve always been surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture that make Guyana unique. From the stunning Essequibo River to the rich history of our Indigenous peoples, there’s so much to cherish. I take pride in our diverse heritage, whether it’s through the delicious curries and roti that grace our tables or the lively conversations about cricket that bridge the gap between generations. And although many of us have family abroad, especially in the diaspora, our love for Guyana keeps us connected no matter how far apart we may be.
When I’m not under the hood of a car, you can find me exploring local markets or participating in community events. I believe it’s essential to celebrate our roots and share our joys, whether it’s correcting someone’s pronunciation of Essequibo (yes, it’s a bit tricky!) or enjoying some sweet black cake during the holidays.
