Hello! I’m Risheram Jagdeo, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast in the vibrant community of West 24 Market Dam, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the rich culture and warmth that Guyana offers. From the bustling markets filled with fresh cassava bread and fried plantain to the serene beauty of the Pomeroon River, my surroundings remind me daily of the simple joys of life in Guyana.
As a son of this land, I cherish the connections we share as Guyanese, whether at home or in the diaspora. Many of us have ventured abroad in search of opportunities, yet our hearts remain anchored in our homeland, reminiscing about family gatherings over pepperpot and the laughter that fills our homes. I often find myself reminiscing with friends about the sweet mangoes from the backyard and the sounds of the cricket season, which brings us together during those warm evenings.

Whether it’s discussing the significance of our landmarks or the unique nuances of our dialect, I take pride in being a voice for my community and a proud representative of our beautiful country.
