Greetings! I’m Rodney Gobin, a proud resident of East Bank Essequibo, specifically from the vibrant community of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the Pomeroon River flows alongside our daily lives, and the flavors of our local cuisine, such as pepperpot and metemgee, fill our homes with warmth and love. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich traditions of Guyana has shaped my identity and instilled in me a profound appreciation for our unique Caribbean heritage.
As a Guyanese, I share a special bond with the broader Caribbean community while also recognizing our distinct identity within South America. We may have been influenced historically by the UK, but our spirit remains deeply tied to the Caribbean Sea and our neighboring countries. Whether it’s celebrating Mashramani with colorful parades or enjoying a quiet evening by the river, every moment is an opportunity to connect with our culture and history.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
