Hello! My name is Rohan Kumar, and I proudly hail from 2 Blenheim Leguan in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. As a seaman, I’ve had the privilege of exploring various parts of the world, yet my heart remains anchored in the rich culture and warmth of my homeland. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our unique traditions, whether it’s sharing a plate of spicy pepperpot during the holidays or gathering with family and friends to celebrate Mashramani with music and dance.
Throughout my journeys, I carry with me the spirit of Guyana, often reminiscing about the serene banks of the Pomeroon River and the laughter echoing from the markets of Georgetown. I aim to highlight the beauty of our country in my travels, not just the challenges we face. As many in the diaspora know, it's important to showcase the hidden gems of our culture, from the delicious cassava pone to the breathtaking views at Kaieteur Falls. I believe that when we share our stories, we strengthen our bonds and celebrate our heritage, no matter where we are in the world.
