Hello! I am Rohan Persaud, a proud farmer hailing from the Essequibo Coast, specifically from the vibrant community of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this lush paradise, where the mighty Essequibo River flows and the land is rich with heritage. Growing up amidst the beauty of Bamboo Landing and the serenity of Myrie Island, I developed a deep appreciation for our natural resources and the agricultural traditions passed down through generations.
As a farmer, I focus on cultivating a variety of crops that reflect the diverse culinary delights of Guyana. From cassava and plantains to the ever-popular pepperpot, my mission is to honor our cultural dishes and share them with the world. I often reminisce about the flavors and aromas that fill the air during family gatherings, and it is this passion for local food that drives me to contribute to our community and the diaspora, whether it’s through our local markets or connecting with Guyanese in Richmond Hill.
