Hello! My name is Romel Charles, and I hail from the vibrant community of Parika on the East Bank Essequibo, nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. As a dedicated miner, I take pride in my work and the natural resources that our lush land offers. Whether it’s the sparkling Pomeroon River or the rich, fertile soil that nourishes our culture, I am deeply connected to my roots and the community that raised me.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve developed a love for our local delicacies, from flavorful pepperpot to the sweetness of fresh coconut and the beloved culinary gem, roti. I cherish the warm camaraderie found at local gatherings, where laughter and stories flow as freely as the Essequibo River. I also find joy in connecting with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, sharing experiences and celebrating our heritage, no matter where we are in the world.
Outside of my work, I enjoy exploring our natural landscapes and supporting local initiatives that uplift our communities.
