Greetings! My name is Romona Parsuram, and I proudly call the vibrant region of Essequibo my home. Living in Block 8 New, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I immerse myself in the rich culture and diverse community that defines our beautiful Guyana. Here, the lush landscapes and flowing rivers, such as the Pomeroon and Lower Pom, connect us to our heritage and remind us of the natural beauty that surrounds us.
As a resident, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, from the savory taste of pepperpot to the sweetness of cassava pone. Although I live in South America, I carry a piece of the Caribbean spirit within me, fostering connections with fellow Guyanese across the globe. Our diaspora plays a vital role in keeping our culture alive, and I am always eager to share my experiences, whether it’s through reminiscing about the Canal Lower Pom River or discussing the unique character of our homeland. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
