Greetings! I'm Ronald Reuben, a proud Guyanese labourer living in the vibrant community of Essequibo along the 746 Main Road Parika. Growing up in this beautiful land, I have developed a deep appreciation for its rich culture, diverse traditions, and the warmth of its people. Whether it's celebrating Diwali, Mashramani, or just enjoying a Sunday cook-up with family, our festivals bring us together and showcase the beautiful friendship between our black and brown communities.
As a Guyanese, I cherish our local delicacies, from the mouth-watering pepperpot to the delectable cook-up rice that fills our homes with comfort and joy. The spirit of unity is palpable in our gatherings, where laughter and shared stories reinforce the bonds of community. I often reminisce about exploring the Pomeroon River and its lush surroundings, which remind me of the beauty of our land— a place where nature and culture intertwine seamlessly.
Through my work and connections in the diaspora, I strive to keep the spirit of Guyana alive, sharing our stories and culinary wonders with those who are far away. With the recent direct flights from Toronto, I hope more of our fellow Guyanese can return home to experience the warmth of our culture firsthand.
