About RONDEL DENSTON BLACK

About Rondel Black

Greetings! My name is Rondel Black, and I proudly call Essequibo 1829 Block 8 New my home, nestled in the heart of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up along the shores of the Pomeroon River, I have deep roots in this vibrant community, where the sounds of daily life are harmonized by the gentle flow of the river. I cherish the rich cultural heritage of Guyana, from the delectable taste of pepperpot and metemgee to the colorful festivals that showcase our diverse heritage. Here in Essequibo, the spirit of camaraderie and unity thrives, as friends and family gather to celebrate our traditions.

As a resident of this beautiful area, I enjoy exploring the lush landscapes and wildlife that surround us. The natural beauty of our region is a treasure; whether it’s spotting caimans in the river or taking in the breathtaking views from Massarie Island, every day is an opportunity for adventure. I often reminisce about the stories shared by elders, who tell of our history, including the time when parts of Guyana were under Dutch influence, reminding us of the diverse narratives that shape our identity.

Beyond my love for home, I am also passionate about connecting with the Guyanese diaspora. I believe that our shared experiences, whether through challenges or triumphs, bind us together. I often engage with others to discuss the changes in our country, such as the recent developments in our infrastructure and the growing dialogue surrounding our natural resources. It’s this sense of community—both here and abroad—that truly enriches the Guyanese experience.
