Hello! My name is Rondell Boston, and I hail from the vibrant Essequibo Coast, specifically the Aurora Public Road in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a miner, I spend my days working hard to extract the rich resources our beautiful land has to offer. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our unique culture, which is a lively mix of our Indigenous, African, and Indian heritage. This mosaic is reflected in our food, music, and community spirit, which I hold dear.
When I'm not busy mining, you can find me indulging in some of our classic dishes—nothing beats a steaming plate of pepperpot or some good old cook-up rice on a Sunday! I love sharing these flavors with friends and family, especially when we gather at local spots like Bourda Market or during community events. It's crucial to me that we keep our culinary traditions alive, so I often remind others that there's no place for shortcuts when preparing our beloved dishes—no ketchup in lasagna, please!
