Hello! My name is Rondie Gobin, and I proudly call 08 Public Road Mocha, in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my home. Growing up in Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, rich history, and the warmth of our communities. Living in this beautiful country, I can often be found enjoying a plate of delicious pepperpot or a steaming bowl of cook-up rice, both staples that remind me of the love and tradition shared among family and friends.
As a labourer, I value the hard work that goes into building and sustaining our communities. It’s a daily tribute to our ancestors who toiled to create a better life for future generations. I believe every corner of Guyana, from the lush landscapes of Berbice to the bustling streets of Georgetown, tells a story, and I am proud to be part of that narrative. Whether it's taking a stroll along the Essequibo River or enjoying a sunny day at the local market, the spirit of our people always shines through.
I also cherish the connection to the Guyanese diaspora scattered across the globe. Despite the distances, the shared memories and cultural bonds keep us united. I often hear my friends reminiscing about home, saying things like, "Don't come to Lil Guyana and suggest we change the name!" It's these shared experiences that remind us of our roots, and I look forward to contributing my part to our community, both here and wherever we may wander.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
