Greetings! My name is Ronnel Wilson, and I proudly call 14 Phoenix Leguan in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. Growing up in Guyana, I've been surrounded by the rich diversity of our culture, from the vibrant celebrations of Mashramani to the mouthwatering flavors of our local cuisine. There's nothing quite like a plate of pepperpot or a bowl of metemgee, which remind me of family gatherings and the warmth of our community. While I appreciate the evolving tastes of our food scene, I often find myself reminiscing about the traditional dishes that shaped my childhood. Truly, we are Caribbean, and our unique ingredients make every meal an experience!
As a resident of Guyana, I deeply value our connections, both locally and with our diaspora. Whether it’s exchanging jokes about how to properly pronounce "Gu-yan-a" or ensuring our names are on the voters' list, we share a bond that transcends borders. I am passionate about engaging with fellow Guyanese and celebrating our heritage, whether it’s through discussions about our local landmarks, like the majestic Kaieteur Falls, or the stories that connect us all, like those from Crow Island in the Lower Pom River.
