Hello! I'm Rookmin Jairam, a proud Guyanese from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of our rivers and forests, I developed a deep appreciation for the rich biodiversity that defines our homeland. When I'm not working as a domestic, I enjoy cooking traditional dishes like pepperpot and metemgee, which bring comfort and joy to my family and friends. There’s nothing quite like the aroma of freshly made cook-up rice wafting through the air during festive gatherings!
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we share, especially when I come across fellow Guyanese abroad. It’s always heartwarming to meet someone who understands the importance of our cultural heritage, from the tales of Jonestown to the mesmerizing Kaieteur Falls. Despite the misconceptions about our country, I believe that every encounter is an opportunity to share our stories and highlight the beauty of our diverse culture and history.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
